We’re almost a month into fall here in North America, and it’s a busy leisure travel season so far. This weekend in particular is busy for residents of Minnesota, where the local schools are observing a long weekend. Students get a couple of extra days off of school while educators participate in a professional conference.

Local Minnesota television station KARE 11 covered the increase in leisure travel during this long weekend, and spoke to CWT blogger and leisure travel specialist Cindy Nelson about the popular destinations this fall.

In addition to the advice Cindy had about choosing a destination in the clip above, she also mentioned that it’s best to book 6-8 months in advance to secure good pricing on air travel. She noted some of the top destinations for fall travel out of the Minneapolis-St. Paul area included Orlando (Disney!); New York City; Washington, D.C.; San Diego and other California destinations as well as 3-4 day cruises departing out of Florida.

Do you have any fall travel plans? Or for those in the southern hemisphere, any spring travel on your agenda?

    Safe Travels!
