• Travel Bucket List: Galapagos, safaris, and more

My travel bucket list is long—and the more I travel the longer it seems to get! There is absolutely nothing I enjoy more than visiting a new destination and discovering my newest favorite place.

At the top of my list are the Galapagos Islands. For centuries, the Galapagos has captured the interest of people throughout the world.  It’s one of the most perfect places to see nature in action. I want to catch a glimpse of the gracefully swimming marine iguanas, the quirky sea lions, the only-equatorial penguins, the famous Darwin Finches, the Flightless Cormorant and the Waved Albatross. And when I make my journey to the Galapagos Islands, I plan to extend my trip and visit Peru and Machu Picchu, too!

Next on my list is an African safari. I dream of spending warm nights in an open-air tent (which can actually be quite luxurious) and listening to the animals. The animals are what draw me the most to this kind of experience. Everyone I’ve ever spoken with that has taken a safari says it was a life-changing experience.

And finally, Morocco. I have a vision of Morocco as a lush, exotic place where history and culture meet. I want to see dramatic scenery—the peaks of the Atlas Mountains, the desert and the beaches. I want to taste the deliciously spicy cuisine. I want to meet the locals—the traditionally-garbed seniors and their modern youths. And I want to study the unique architecture found throughout the cities. There are countless experiences to be had in Morocco.

Other destinations and experiences on my travel bucket list include Angkor Wat, the Kingdom of Bhutan, seeing the Taj Mahal at sunrise, renting a villa in Tuscany, and going “Down Under”. (Just to name a few!)

What’s on your travel bucket list?
