Travelers are accustomed to searching for hotels based on business or leisure, star ratings and distance from the airport, but now travelers can expand their search to include wellness-focused hotels.

EVEN_lobbyHoteliers such as InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) continue to enhance their brands to reach select groups of consumers, including IHG’s EVEN Hotels brand, which is completely focused on travelers’ well-being.

IHG analyzed emerging trends through several studies encompassing 4,000 customers, which revealed a demand for a holistic wellness travel experience. In simple terms, travelers want to stay healthy while traveling, thus EVEN Hotels was born.

EVEN Hotels’ four priority areas include:

    • Exercise – Guest rooms designed for in-room workouts, a best-in-class gym with equipment and group exercise activities, and more
    • Eat – Nutritionally designed menus with a particular focus on natural, fresh, fit and energizing meals available anytime
    • Work – Rooms with high speed Wi-Fi, multimedia ports, easy access to outlets, and more
    • Rest – Rooms offer revitalization and relaxation, including hypoallergenic linens, powerful showerheads, natural lighting, and more.

Two EVEN Hotels have already been signed in New York City, and 100 EVEN Hotels are expected to be signed in the U.S. within the next five years.

IHG’s research suggests a demand for a healthy hotel stay, but do wellness-focused amenities like those at EVEN Hotels persuade you as a traveler to stay at one of these unique properties?
