Huatulco: Not-your-usual Mexico destination
Talking about travel comes easy for me. Honestly, it’s a topic I just can’t get enough of! Maybe that’s why I always have friends and family inquiring about up-and-coming destinations—what travel trends we’re seeing from our customers; if all-inclusive resorts really are a good value; where I’d recommend they go for their next vacation; and so on and so forth.

Of course, living in Minnesota, hot, tropical getaways are a popular topic and always seem to be on everyone’s mind around here. (Except for July when we have our one month of summer.) Whether it’s winter, end of summer, or somewhere in between, Mexico is always a favorite among sun-seekers. But for those who have traveled to the Cancun/Riviera Maya area multiple times and are looking for something new in Mexico—my suggestion would be Huatulco!
Huatulco (pronounced wah-tool-co) is located on the Pacific side in southern Mexico. Because of its southern location, the weather in Huatulco simply can’t be beat! Their average temperature is a delightful 82°F with very little rain during the winter months.
But more than anything else, what inspires me to recommend this area is the authentic, traditional Mexican charm and the warm, welcoming people that you’ll find there. There is a relaxed, laid-back feel that one would not experience at some of the larger resort destinations. In Huatulco, you can truly escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. And further to that point, if you’re a parent looking for an adults-only getaway, try the all-inclusive Secrets Resort & Spa
Aside from that unique aspect of Huatulco, another one of its draws is, of course, the beaches. In true Mexico fashion, the beaches are beautiful and worthy of being featured on a postcard!
So if you’re looking for a new destination to escape to, consider Huatulco and experience this unspoiled hideaway for yourself! And if you do visit, be sure to let me know how you enjoyed your time there!
