The number of TSA Pre✓™ Application Centers continues to grow. There are so many and they are added so frequently that we can’t keep up with them all. (At the moment this is being written, there are 166.)

PreCheck is the service that would allow you to ability to keep your shoes, belt and light coat on through the TSA security checkpoint, keep your laptop in its bag, and your liquids in a 3-1-1 bag in your carry-on. It is available, by our count, at 76 airports in 46 U.S. states (also as of Feb. 11, 2014). It’s available to U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals or Lawful Permanent Residents of the U.S.

To find a center near you, visit the TSA’s enrollment site. Passengers can pre-enroll online, then visit an application center in person within 30 days to complete a background interview, provide fingerprints and valid I.D. Here’s a list of acceptable forms of ID, from the TSA site.

The application fee remains as previously announced ($85) and the Known Traveler Number you would receive on successful enrollment will be good for five years.
