CWT was front and center again this year as a platinum sponsor of the conference. Our very own Sherry Saunders, Senior Vice President and General Manager, CWT Canada and North American Leisure participated in an executive forum where the real buzz was around mobility and how digital is impacting travelers today and in the future.
The executive panel comprising of leaders from CWT, Best Western, WestJet and National Enterprise were in agreement that each industry sector has been and needs to continue to be responsive to the needs and expectations of travelers, our clients.Without question the landscape is changing. Saunders pointed out that mobility is in fact a game-changer in today’s world, and that includes travel. In three years’ time, 50 percent of online bookings will be made through mobile devices!
With that said, Saunders also stressed that ‘service’ is key regardless of how much technology impacts us.
CWT has been working diligently to meet the needs and demands for our clients in the digital space. CWT will continue working to provide the functionality that brings travelers the most value with the best user experience available, including a consistent experience across devices. Travelers will notice a difference in CWT’s ability to provide personalized, contextual, and relevant information and options.
Along those lines, CWT also announced recently that WorldMate, its mobile subsidiary, has won ‘Best Mobile Travel User Experience’ at the EyeforTravel Mobile Innovation in Travel Awards. This win, in a category that recognizes companies that adopt new technology to create an optimized, prioritized experience for mobile visitors, marks the third consecutive year that WorldMate has won an award at the event, and means WorldMate has won at every app competition it has entered since 2010. In 2013, CWT earned a double victory at the awards, with WorldMate winning ‘Best Mobile App’ and CWT ‘Best Mobile Strategy’.
